A Touch of Black

Coming Early 2027

Olivia McArthor is just close enough to her dreams to call herself happy. She wants to move away from her family, but her brother follows her. She wants to live with her best friend, but the apartment is small and falling apart. She wants to be a professional violinist, but she is only accepted into a community orchestra. She learns to be thankful for what she has instead of running the risk of wanting something that will never happen.

Aundreus Toscano never had a choice. He was raised surrounded by relentless brutality. So he hardened himself physically and emotionally to withstand what is expected of him. By the time Aundreus starts his own illegal empire he is an impassable wall. Nothing can touch him, nothing can affect him.

The second that Aundreus’s eyes land on Olivia, dressed for a date-gone-wrong in a dirty New York City subway car, nothing could stand in his way. He knows way too much about pain to suffer the thought not getting what he wants.

Snatched from her world, Olivia finds that she is willfully unprepared to deal with his deadly reality. She no longer has a choice in where she can be, only who she can be.

What awaits for her inside the darkness that Aundreus creates looks less like a choice and more like an inevitability.

Like ink on paper, Olivia is forever changed.

If she escapes, could she ever find her way back to who she was? Would she even want to?
